I thought I would share some finished examples and before and after image of an interior photo shoot commission I recently completed. The shoot was for a one bedroom apartment and I wanted to make it look as light and airy as possible in the photographs. As a professional photographer of many years now, I can see problem areas that will need supplemented lighting on location and with careful blending with ambient light, this can be overcome to look natural to the eye.
The apartment took most of the day to shoot using a remote camera on a tripod with pocket wizard triggers for flash activation and capture. I shoot tethered into a laptop for reference to view and assess the multiple exposures and flash frames to check I have a full range of options to edit in Photoshop for the final product.

We had the pleasure of shooting the new restaurant Botanica at South Lodge on the outskirts of Horsham for future magazine advertising and for a meal review editorial feature.
The restaurant is Mediterranean inspired and run by head chef Jonathan Spiers. There is a vegetarian prominence to most of the dishes but there are meat options too for those that can’t do without!
I photographed the restaurant inside and out before setting up the studio lights for the food shots. We were then traded to ten dishes suggested by chef followed by two deserts. I can honestly say, I have never had such delicious vegetarian food, and I am not swayed lightly on the subject!

Feria de Horsham was a new event for the town this year. This was in addition to the usual excellent events held in the town throughout the summer, including Piazza Italia, Americarna, Pium Jam etc.
The Spanish themed festival came to Horsham courtesy of Feria de Londres in partnership with Horsham District Council.
As you can see from the images below, there was an amazing display of colourful Rumba and Flamenco dancing, traditional Spanish street food stalls and children’s play/workshop areas for face painting, hair styling, velvet rose making and a portrait artist if you were happy to sit for long enough!
The crowds enjoyed the entertainment right through the day and were a great addition to add to the Spanish vibe making it a true festival experience.

We enjoyed photographing an awesome evening for Yellow Fish events and CITA at the OXO tower London.
This is an amazing event space and as a commercial photographer, a real treat to shoot!
Lick Me bespoke ice creams were there as a supplier and also the magical Lewis Fuller who is a singing magician and part of the magic circle group. The delegates at the OXO tower London clearly enjoyed the evening.

I love photographing events like this when the people and the atmosphere really make the day. Plenty of amazing cars to photograph and happy faces too! Although I photograph all over the UK for corporate, commercial and advertising shoots, I really enjoy photographing closer to home now and again! What an amazing day to photograph the street food finals 2018 in Horsham town. The 21st of October and bathed in glorious sunshine!
As a professional event photographer based in Sussex but travelling internationally for assignments, it is always nice to shoot something nice and local once in a while.

A few images from a recent shoot in Fenchurch Street, London for Accenture staff through Honeybees media agency. This shoot involved the full four light studio set up, back drop and reflectors to get the look required. The Loxwood Joust is an amazing spectacular medieval event held every year in August.
The event is held in two large arenas with a small woodland area in-between the two main fields. There is plenty to see and do for all the family, including blacksmith workshops, learning how to make chainmail, pewter badge making along with many other skills like archery, swordsmanship etc.
If you make it past the witches at their caldron in the woods, you will find their resident executioner on hand to tell you of frighting times of old!

I have been asked to photograph quite a few interiors/exteriors for various building companies and property developers in the Surrey and Sussex area over the years. It is always a challenge to shoot interiors as you often have to battle with the lighting available in the room and then subtly add your own. Some of the shots below are created by a montage of up to 10 different parts of the image photographed separately with Profoto B1 studio lights triggered remotely. This particular shoot was for Thakeham Homes based in West Sussex.

I had the pleasure of photographing the annual APAM conference (association of Physicians of Great Britain and Ireland) at the Reynolds centre, Manchester University and then on to the Manchester Museum for drinks reception and dinner. The image below is the reception area, perfect for drinks and networking!
We had a fun shoot in March 2018 with models Alexa and Juan along with Clare Pinkney (make up artist) in a hired barn in the depths of West Sussex!
The brief was to create light and airy lifestyle images with a young couple on these new high tech mattresses created by Southern Foam.
I had visited the barn in previous weeks with the client to assess the best angles and areas within the given space to shoot in. The images came out well and everyone was happy with the results, which is always good!
I decided to use the 30 megapixel Canon 5d mrk4 for this shoot as we needed a good depth of field to show off the mattresses as well as having the models in focus. My medium format camera is better for subject isolation and would have been a compromise in this situation.
Lighting heads were Profoto B1s and 120cm/70cm octoboxes with inner diffusion panels to create even softer light. Lights were balanced with the exposure of the window light to keep things looking natural.
